Alfarmakos was founded in 2005 and since then has been importing and distributing pharmaceutical products, dietary supplements, medical materials, and various other products.

    PRIVACY POLICY

    ALFARMAKOS, a registered business entity under the laws of Albania, with NUIS (K52115005W) and located at: TIRANE, Fshati Katund i Ri, Autostrada Tirane-Durres, km.6, Building No. 211/1, Zone 2119, Albania, (“ALFARMAKOS”), distributor of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetic products, and dietary supplements, has the obligation to provide information about the processing of personal data collected through voluntary reports of unwanted reactions, experiences, or special situations, unusual failure of results in an effective manner, accidents or incidents, unwanted or unintended effects (“Adverse Effects”), which occurred after taking a drug or using a medical device, cosmetic product, or dietary supplement.

    The personal data you provide for reporting Adverse Effects of products distributed by ALFARMAKOS, through electronic sources and/or by submitting specific documentation (where applicable), will be processed in accordance with Law No. 9887, dated 10.03.2008, “On the Protection of Personal Data,” as amended, and other applicable regulations.

    By providing your personal data for the purposes of the Adverse Effects process, you confirm your consent for the use, distribution, storage, and/or sharing with third parties as specified in this notice and in the applicable Albanian law.

    Purpose and Legal Basis of Processing
    The personal data you have voluntarily provided will be collected and processed by ALFARMAKOS for the purpose of fulfilling obligations related to pharmacovigilance procedures, as stipulated by Law No. 104/2014 “On Medicines and Pharmaceutical Service,” as amended, or procedures related to adverse effects of devices under Law No. 89/2014 “On Medical Devices,” as amended, or cosmetic products under Law No. 26/2017 “On Cosmetic Products,” as amended, or dietary supplements under Law No. 9863, dated 28.01.2008 “On Food,” as amended. The purpose is to identify Adverse Effects, improve information on already known Adverse Effects, evaluate the causal relationship between taking a drug/using a medical device, cosmetic products, or dietary supplements and the observed unintended effect, and notify this information to the competent authority to ensure that drugs, medical devices, cosmetic products, or dietary supplements are being used safely and present a favorable benefit-risk assessment for the population.

    Providing your personal data for the above purpose is necessary. In fact, failure to provide this information will prevent us from fully fulfilling the above-mentioned pharmacovigilance and vigilance obligations.

    Categories of Personal Data

    • Identification Data: Initials or first and last name, age or date of birth.
    • Contact Data: Email address and phone number (landline or mobile).

    Method of Processing Data
    We process your personal data in accordance with applicable law, using supporting tools and/or IT, manual, and/or online instruments, in compliance with appropriate technical and organizational security measures, in line with the purposes for which the data is collected.

    Who May Access Your Data
    Personal data may be processed by:

    • Regulatory institutions (both Albanian and foreign)
    • Health oversight bodies, public administration bodies, public security authorities, or judicial authorities
    • Manufacturers and/or wholesale companies that have sold products to ALFARMAKOS, located in Albania or abroad
    • Professionals and/or companies designated by the Data Controllers to carry out supporting activities for specific purposes in this notice
    • IT service providers for managing technology infrastructure, information systems, and communication networks

    An updated list of recipients can be requested at the above-mentioned address.

    Your personal data will be shared with the aforementioned parties when necessary.

    Duration of Data Retention
    Your data will be processed for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes of the vigilance procedures. In relation to this purpose, your personal data will be stored in a secure database for the necessary time to manage the respective reporting and follow-up of this reporting.

    All data related to the reporting of Adverse Effects will be kept for as long as the product is authorized for sale and for the maximum legal or contractual period. Personal data will be pseudonymized. After this period, the data will be deleted or anonymized in such a way that it will not allow, even indirectly or in connection with other databases, the identification of the subjects.
